Privacy notice
Last updated 29 September 2026
This notice explains what personal information Caldec collects through this website, why we collect it and the rights you have over it. If anything is unclear, email hello@caldec.co.uk and we will be happy to help.
Who we are
Caldec (“we”, “us”) is a UK digital studio and a trading name of Declan Auston and Kevin Calvert. We are the controller of the personal information described in this notice. We follow UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) guidance.
Our address is Caldec, Rolls Close, Yaxley, Peterborough. You can contact us about privacy at any time at hello@caldec.co.uk.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry using the form on our home page, we receive:
- your name and email address
- your organisation, if you give it
- your budget range and the services you are interested in, if you choose them
- whatever you tell us about your project
Please do not include sensitive information, such as health details, in your message. We do not need it to reply.
How we use it
We use your enquiry to reply to you and, if you would like to go ahead, to discuss and plan your project. Our lawful bases are our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
We never sell your information, and we will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing without your permission.
Where it is kept and for how long
We use trusted providers to run our website and business email, and they only handle your information on our instructions. When you send an enquiry, the form is processed by our website host in the UK and delivered to our business mailbox.
Our email provider may store and process emails outside the UK, including in the United States. Where it does, your information is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
We keep enquiries for up to 12 months after our last contact with you and then delete them. If we start working together, your details become part of our client records and are kept for as long as we need them for that work and our legal obligations, such as keeping accounts.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our fonts are stored on our own server, so visiting the site does not share your details with Google or anyone else.
If you switch between the light and dark themes, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it next time. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Security and server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs help keep the site secure and working, and are deleted routinely.
To protect the enquiry form from spam, we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address when you send an enquiry. It is used only to limit repeated submissions and is discarded within an hour.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information
- restrict how we use it, or object to us using it
To make a request, email hello@caldec.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before going to the ICO.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
